New feature on WhatsApp share Live Location
The new whatsapp feature got unveiled on Android 8 with whatsapp version 2.17.351. The feature is to share your live location on whatsapp for your contact. Whatsapp has already current location sharing feature that everybody knows about. But this can be done one-time,  and the receiver cant track the sender if they move. This feature is end to end encrypted allows you to control who you share your location and how long. There is a live location timer which you can choose time period as much as you need to share your location. Within this period your live location wherever you move will be available for the recipient. While sharing the location, other users in the group will be able to see the rest of the members below the map who have shared their live location. Multiple users can share their location at once.  That feature is worth mentioning.

 The feature can can be simply accessed inside the application.

  • Open your WhatsApp Application either Android or iOS
  • Open the persons chat screen you want to share Live Location with
  • On below text screen click on the attachment 📎 button
  • Tap on the Location feature from options
  • There you can find a map and below that you can see Live Location share option
  • You can setup time frame period which others in Individual chats and groups can track you (15mins, 1hr,  8hrs)

The new feature on WhatsApp  aims at enterprises to communicate with their customers.
